Trinity River Kayak Company

Stopped in the Coppell area and passed a bridge with beautiful flowing water. The scenery was genuinely stunning, so I made a quick U-turn because I wanted to briefly take a video of the view. Nearby, I noticed the storefront for Trinity Kayak, which appeared closed at the time. I pulled into the open area near the entrance. I did not notice any signage indicating that parking was restricted in that specific spot. I stayed in my vehicle briefly while being cautious of traffic, as cars were moving through the area at a fairly fast pace. My intention was only to stop for a moment, take a quick video of the water, and then leave. While I was still there, a woman came out from the property and motioned for me to return to my vehicle. I immediately complied and approached to understand the situation. She informed me, in a raised and firm tone, that I was on private property and needed to move my car because someone was arriving and access was needed. I immediately apologized and explained that I had not seen any signage and was unaware that parking was not allowed in that area. I was fully willing to move right away. However, the interaction felt unnecessarily abrupt and confrontational in tone. While I understand the importance of enforcing private property rules, the way information is communicated matters just as much as the message itself. A calm explanation and simple direction to park elsewhere would have resolved the situation without tension. Instead, the communication felt rushed and dismissive, which left a negative impression of the customer service experience. In any business especially one located in a scenic, visitor-attracting area professional and respectful communication is essential, even when correcting a mistake. Because of the tone and manner in which the situation was handled, I would not feel comfortable returning or recommending this business based on the customer service experience. Dear Business Owner, Thank you for responding, because your reply speaks for itself. Your response comes across as arrogant, defensive, and unprofessional. As someone reading this exchange, I would be hesitant to do business with a company that responds to public feedback in this manner. You also claim that I was “asked nicely to leave,” which is simply not true. That statement is fabricated. If I had been treated respectfully, there would have been no reason for me to write this review in the first place. Businesses have every right to protect their property, but honesty, humility, and professionalism matter just as much. Rather than addressing my experience with courtesy, you chose to make false accusations and attack my character. I stand by my review because it reflects my experience. I hope future customers read both my review and your response and draw their own conclusions about how concerns are handled.
