I took my first pottery class with Oak cliff Pottery and absolutely loved it. Such a great experience. I've always wanted to do pottery so it's safe to say I checked one thing off of my bucket list. James, the instructor, was so patient and helpful. He provided good instruction and redirection. Pottery is definitely harder than I thought, but I will definitely be back!

He generously gave me a tour of his gallery and work space and we all anxiously await the first firing of his under construction gas kiln! I was honored to purchase one of James’s lovely tea cups (with a proper foot!) and a traditional African cooking pot from Tanzania. I couldn’t resist also getting a mini replica cooking pot made by James and his daughter and two of the therapeutic porcelain stars.

We loved coming here! James was amazing and very patient with us especially as first timers. If you’re looking to do pottery definitely come here - he gives you fundamentals to actually learn. It’s a great date night or group activity!

I went with my girlfriend last month and we had such a great experience at Oak Cliff Pottery! The studio itself has a really warm and inviting vibe, and our instructor, James, made the class even better. He was super helpful, patient, and a great teacher—he explained everything clearly and made sure everyone in the class felt comfortable no matter their skill level. We both had a lot of fun learning and left with pieces we’re really proud of. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a fun and creative date activity or just want to try something new!

Had a really fun time at Pottery on the Wheel! Tried pottery for the first time after the New Year and it was such a great experience. The studio was welcoming, the process was hands-on, and it was relaxing learning something new. Definitely a fun and creative activity — would come back again.
