EFSS is a solid option if you want a well run place to train without dealing with chaos. One of the biggest perks is the steel bays. When it is not packed, they will let you move between bays, which makes the session way more productive. Being able to change distance, target size, and work different setups keeps things from feeling repetitive. The staff stays on top of everything. They are constantly walking the line, monitoring shooters, and stepping in when needed. If you have a question or need clarification, they are quick to help. They also keep the bays clean and are regularly picking up brass. That might sound minor, but it makes a difference. Less brass on the ground means less chance of slipping, especially if you are moving around to reset or change positions. They do have some FUDDy rules. No holster work, no rapid fire, and a few other restrictions that might frustrate more experienced shooters. Dropping mags during reloads is allowed though. It is definitely more structured than some private spots. That said, if you carry yourself professionally and show proficiency, they can be a little more relaxed within reason. Overall, it is clean, organized, and professionally managed. If you are willing to work within the rules, it is still absolutely worth the trip.

This is a great outdoor range. From skeet shooting to their .22 range, there is something for everyone at every shooting skill level. They have safety officers that are friendly and not intimidating to a new shooter. We took our church group for a day of fun and we had all levels of shooters that enjoyed their day at the range.

I had a great time today at the Elm Fork shooting range. I honestly didn’t know what to expect, but I really enjoyed the setting and the surrounding area. The employees and ROs there are all great, especially ET. He helped me with so many things today, and I don’t think I’ve ever learned as much as I did in one visit. He was more than willing to help and guide me with anything shooting-related, and he was extremely knowledgeable. I’ve been trying to find a shooting range I can consistently go to, and I might have just found it.

Went Sunday early afternoon, had a blast with the reactive steel. Staff was super nice, we are beginner shooters and one of the RSOs came over to give us some much-appreciated pointers on proper grip and posture for improving our handgun accuracy. When you arrive go to the small building at the end of the parking lot to pay and get your wristbands. The staff will let you know where to go from there. They had a nice selection of accessories as well in their shop, I was able to snag a 9mm nylon bore brush I couldn’t find at Academy or Cabelas.

Me and my friends had a blast at this shooting range. It was so much fun and our instructor Larry was the best. This was our first time and he was very informative and helpful. He gave us a tour of the grounds which is very big and was very patient with us. If I go back to Dallas, I will definitely stop by here again. I highly recommend it, especially for first timers.
